City and County Piaseczno

Piaseczno is the urban-country commune located in the centre of Poland in the direct neighbourhood of the southern part of Warsaw. The commune is made up of city of Piaseczno and 32 solectwos (Polish smallest administrative units). Piaseczno is the seat of local authorities. Piaseczno is attractive both for investors and the inhabitants appreciating quiet and active rest. Piaseczno can offer its inhabitants comfortable working and living conditions. Modern, multifamily housing estates are being built in the town. The number of flats is increasing by about one thousand every year. In 2006 Piaseczno became the leader in the field of investments per one inhabitant. In the following year in the Forbes magazine ranking of  cities and towns most attractive for business, Piaseczno won the 2nd position in the category of up to 100 thousand inhabitants. Piaseczno also awarded the 2nd place in the ranking of towns an cities most attractive for foreign capital. Piaseczno is a receptive market of services. Several large commercial centres are located here. The commune is developing very dynamically, which is reflected by the realized investments.

  • number of inhabitants: 64000, in the town: 38000, in the commune: 26000.

Project within Urb.Energy
Piaseczno brings in concrete experiences with the preparation of an integrated urban development plan including an integrated energy supply concept or the residential area which since 2005 has been defined as revitalisation area;
Several buildings in the centre of the city will be selected as case studies to elaborate the feasibility studies for the application of energy efficient rehabilitation measures and appropriate financing structures, will be developed aiming to obtain financing from different sources including EU- Structural Funds. This target area include 18 buildings constructed during 1965-1975. All buildings are owned by Home Owner’s Associations with mayority of private ownership of dwellings.
